Customers may provide contact details, an approximate and later a specific job location, a description, timing and optional images. Businesses may provide identity, contact, service and coverage information. Technical security records may also be kept.

Information is used to operate accounts, receive and review requests, support introductions, prevent misuse and meet legal obligations. A full address and private contact details should not appear in public listings.

Public listings show only a reviewed summary and an approximate postcode district. Customer contact details are shared only with a business whose interest has been accepted after review. Essential hosting, email and security suppliers may process information on our instructions. Information is not sold to advertising companies.

Unpublished job requests and their attachments are reviewed for deletion after 24 months. Business account information is kept while the account is active and reviewed for deletion within 24 months of closure. Consent, moderation and introduction records may be kept for up to six years where needed to answer disputes or meet legal duties. Short security rate limit records expire automatically.

You can ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction or a portable copy of information where the law provides that right. You can object to some uses and withdraw optional marketing consent at any time. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office. Contact hello@workleads.co.uk to make a request.

Work Leads publishes unclaimed directory listings for companies that work in building and home improvement trades. These listings are compiled from the Companies House register, which is published under the Open Government Licence. A business with an unclaimed listing has not joined Work Leads, and Work Leads does not check or recommend it.

An unclaimed listing shows the company name, the company number, the registered office area (the county, town and postcode district only, for example Lancashire, Chorley PR7), the trades taken from the nature of business registered at Companies House, and the year of incorporation. A phone number is shown only where the business has published it itself. We do not publish the names of directors or other company officers, street addresses or full postcodes.

We check listings against the Companies House register each month and hide a listing when the company is no longer active. Each listing shows the date its details were last checked.

A listing page that shows a map loads the map images from OpenStreetMap Foundation servers. Those servers receive your IP address when the images load, as with any image on the web. The map shows the centre of the postcode district, not the company's address.

A company can ask us to correct or remove its listing at any time using the correction and removal link on the listing. Removal of an unclaimed listing takes effect immediately and is permanent. A request to remove a listing that a business has claimed is checked by a member of staff first. We keep a suppression record so a removed business is not added again when the register is next checked. The suppression record holds only a hashed form of identifiers such as the company number, not the listing itself.

Information about a limited company is not usually personal data. Where a listing does contain information about an individual, for example a sole trader, our lawful basis is legitimate interests, which means helping customers find local trade businesses. You have the right to object, and an objection to a directory listing is always upheld by removing the listing.
